Resident director Thomas Bendixen stages Australian playwright and director Simon Stone’s contemporary, unflinching drama, inspired by Federico García Lorca’s 1934 tragedy. Stone’s adaptation of Yerma, which premiered at London’s Young Vic in 2016 to acclaim, is reset in a modern urban world. The story follows a successful city woman whose life appears fully controlled until a new home triggers a desire for a child. The production probes the psychological toll of infertility today, integrating themes of social media oversharing and the clinical realities of fertility treatments. Recommended for ages 14+, the performance is given entirely in Danish without surtitles.
