The Sound of Silence

This special concert celebrates the 90th birthday of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. Produced by the Lausitz Festival, it takes place in the historic Parish Church of St Peter and Paul in Görlitz. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and conductor Tõnu Kaljuste—longtime collaborators of Pärt—join Concerto Copenhagen to present a program that reflects the dual spiritual heritage of Pärt’s music, bridging Orthodox and Catholic traditions. Curated to foreground contemplative intensity and a clear, luminous sound world, the program embraces simplicity and depth in the composer’s signature tintinnabuli style.
