State Opera Plovdiv’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a magical children’s musical that immerses young audiences in the classic fairy tale. Directed by Georgi Dinev, the staging blends modern visual technology with traditional theatre craft, featuring 3D mapping by Polina Gerasimova alongside colorful sets and costumes by Gergana Mantarlyeva. Unusually for many children’s shows, the performance features live music with the State Opera Plovdiv orchestra and chorus under the baton of Konstantin Dobroykov. Choreography by Yordan Krastev animates the forest animals and magical elements through lively dance. Composer Atanas Kosev conceived the work to nurture children’s first encounters with the performing arts, reflecting their need for fairy tales, kindness, and love, and guiding them toward becoming future opera and theatre audiences.
