The opera "The Marriage" based on the comedy of the same name by N. V. Gogol is one of the most significant works of the outstanding Russian composer A. T. Grechaninov. It was created in 1946, but was performed only twice, abroad. Today, "an absolutely incredible event" (the author's definition of the genre of "The Marriage") is performed on the Russian stage of the Children's Musical Theater named after N. I. Sats. The composer carefully preserved both the text of the comedy and the story of the touching Agafya Tikhonovna and her unlucky suitors. The brightness of the characters, the dynamism of the plot, the unsurpassed Gogolian language, and, of course, the inspired performance of the theater soloists make the performance especially interesting for teenagers and young people.
