About

Poe is a Laterna magika dance-theatre performance inspired by the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe. It combines dance, singing, original music, instrumental music, stage design, costumes, objects, and marionettes. The dark theatrical environment contains rooms and corners populated by fairies, phantoms, demons, and beasts. Lyrical and hyperbolic costumes create both comic and frightening effects. The production also uses Pepper's Ghost, an illusion first presented publicly in 1860. Lenka Vagnerová is responsible for stage direction and choreography, with text adaptation by Vagnerová and Vladimír Javorský. Eva Zezula and Ivan Acher designed the sets; Zezula designed the costumes; Acher created the music, projections, and dramaturgy; Michal Kříž designed the lighting; and Eva Svobodová designed the sound.
