Besieged Time is a contemporary concert work based on poems by Titos Patrikios with music by Andreas Katsigiannis. The piece comprises seven poems set to music interleaved with eight poems narrated by the poet, creating a non‑linear journey that moves between present and past. Its themes trace the poet’s encounters with the idea of woman through time, political viewpoints, and the broader trajectory of humanity. Katsigiannis emphasizes the ‘music of the words,’ shaping musical textures that respect the cadence and semantics of Patrikios’ verse while illuminating its emotional balance. Premiered on the Greek National Opera’s Alternative Stage, the work blends narration, voice, and chamber ensemble into a reflective, intimate concert experience.
