Janus Theatre Company opens its 28th season with a new version of Ben Jonson’s rowdy classic comedy, The Alchemist, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Artistic Director Sean Hargadon. The production marks the first performance at the New Elgin Art Showcase in downtown Elgin. This staging is part of Janus Theatre's "Greed is Good: A Season of Corruption," which features classic stories from the past brought to life for today’s audience. The production is sponsored in part by the City of Elgin and the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission. Janus Theatre Company, an award-winning 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on presenting work that is both classic and contemporary, aiming to bring the actor and audience closer together in found spaces.
