Finale

The Finale of the 2026 MA Competition for Harpsichord brings five finalists to Concertgebouw Brugge’s Concertzaal, accompanied by the strings of Il Gardellino. Each candidate performs three works, with Ligeti’s Passacaglia Ungherese set as the compulsory centerpiece. Depending on the chosen pathway, candidates either pair Bach toccatas with a Haydn concerto, or perform a selection from W. F. Bach’s Polonaises with a J. S. Bach harpsichord concerto. Audience members may enter or leave between candidates. The winner receives a cash prize, a concert at MA Festival 2027, and a recording with Ricercar.
