This production presents an electronically expanded reinterpretation of Zbigniew Karkowski’s Form and Disposition for solo percussion and electronics. Originally composed without a score, the piece survived through performances by Daniel Buess and João Carlos Pacheco. In 2022, percussionist Aleksander Wnuk and composer Piotr Peszat created the first transcription, commissioned by the Sacrum Profanum festival. The new version relies on digital processing while preserving the work’s extremely physical performance character. It foregrounds Karkowski’s interest in the textures of electro-acoustic, ambient, and noise music. The interpretation functions as a dialogue with Karkowski, allowing the piece to remain in flux and mutate, opening new perspectives on his output beyond his death.
