Programmed within Souffle, Dijon’s biennial dedicated to sound experiences and experimental listening, this event invited audiences to explore perception, sensation, and emotion through collective listening. Staged at the Chevet de Notre-Dame (the exterior apse of the historic Church of Notre-Dame), the performance leveraged the medieval site’s distinctive acoustics and architecture. Percussionist Stéphane Garin performed Alvin Lucier’s Silver Streetcar for the Orchestra, a focused exploration of resonance and subtle sonic transformations, uniquely amplified by the space itself.
