An evening at MaerzMusik tracing a perceptual journey from image to darkness to multimedia intensity: the program opens with Peter Ablinger’s String Quartet No. 2 as a short video work, continues with Georg Friedrich Haas’s String Quartet No. 10 performed in complete darkness, and culminates in Jennifer Walshe’s Everything is Important for voice, string quartet, and film. The Arditti Quartet anchors the live program with Walshe herself as vocal performer, exploring the speed, simultaneity, and overload of contemporary, mediatized life.
