SEULE Epitomé

SEULE Epitomé is conceived as the “younger sister” of SEULE (created in 2019 for a dancer and string quartet at the MANCA Festival). This version was born from the desire to bring the work into museums, among artworks, and into singular spaces, and it specifically targets young audiences in middle and high schools. The project opens a dialogue with youth around the notions of “Self” and “Other,” questioning each person’s place within a group and initiating conversations about bullying in schools and on social media. The piece explores the relationship between words and the body, seeking the impact of language on our innermost being. As Laurence Marthouret puts it, “in the stillness of inner silence, words resonate and settle into the very matter of the flesh,” perceived through the prism of movement. The production reflects on solitude as a universal human condition and on language as an attempt to break that solitude.
