The 2026 production of Robin Hood continues The Glimmerglass Festival's tradition of creating opera for and with young people. This staging brings the work to the mainstage of the Alice Busch Opera Theater, offering a professional platform where local youth collaborate with the Festival’s Resident Artists and creative teams. Reviving the piece commissioned by the Festival and originally directed by Francesca Zambello in 2017, the production highlights themes of justice and community resilience. In a world where the law has been corrupted, ordinary citizens stand together against greed. The Glimmerglass Festival Youth Chorus is integrated into a full professional environment with sets, costumes, and lighting, delivering a one-hour, no-intermission experience designed to be accessible for families while maintaining artistic rigor.
