The Chosen Ones

The Chosen Ones is a hybrid performance that offers an exclusive glimpse into a secretive community known as the Followers of Ø. This radical-utopian group previously staged an opera in a self-built village in a Swedish meadow, and twelve observers from Oslo were selected to visit them in secret. At Black Box teater, the work appears as a five-hour marathon installation-performance that documents and interprets this visit through multiple video perspectives and a main screen edit. Audience members can move freely, switch audio feeds via headphones, and experience an evolving mix of technology, ritual, and documentary. Food and an open bar underscore its communal atmosphere, central to Reinholdtsen’s Norwegian Opra aesthetic.
