“I explore themes of helplessness, loss, and finding the strength to move forward,” says Daniela Cardim, choreographer of the first part of the evening. With Szymanowski’s composition she stands with every woman who loses a loved one. For Edward Clug—responsible for the second part—Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater is a hymn to women, where tenderness and gentleness meet sacrifice and devotion. Stabat Mater by Daniela Cardim and Edward Clug is a performance for our times. Szymanowski – Stabat Mater Music from a recording of the concert held at the University Aula in Poznań on 16 March 2022. The Choir and Orchestra of the Grand Theatre Poznań were conducted by Jacek Kaspszyk. Vocal parts were sung by: Iwona Sobotka (soprano), Joanna Motulewicz (mezzo-soprano), and Mariusz Godlewski (baritone).
