In Waves is a musical exploration of nature led by jazz musician Samy Thiébault, conceived as an ode to the ocean and his passion for surfing. The production is a coming‑of‑age fable inspired by the artist’s travels and his love for the South Pacific and its cultures. Thiébault refines his vision of jazz by embracing creoleness and grounding it in tropical sonorities. The project extends his eponymous album as an orchestrated epilogue. In this stage version, Samy Thiébault is joined by a jazz ensemble and the Orchestre National de Bretagne. The work invites audiences to a carnal and mystical experience, evoking the power of nature, sea creatures, and ancient gods.
