A Light Rekindled

“A Light Rekindled” is a song cycle composed by Amin Sarrafi with English text by Alan Olejniczak. Inspired by the contemporary Persian poetry of Sohrab Sepehri, the work sets three of his poems translated from Farsi to English, drawing cultural parallels between Iranian and Western idealism. Scored for countertenor and harp, the cycle addresses modern philosophical and social themes while celebrating the “light of simple beauties” within darkness. Created as a close collaboration between composer and librettist, it was released at the end of 2021 as a continuous studio recording.
