NIBIRU! is an experimental electronic opera—described as a “techno tone-poem” and a “techno-apocalypse-noise-spoken-word-electronic-opera”—created by Dominic Robertson (Ergo Phizmiz). It satirizes end-of-the-world conspiracy theories, social media, and contemporary life with anarchic humor. The staging blends hypnotic electronics, noise, spoken word, projections, and a fluid volunteer cast. Developed by the creator of Mozart vs Machine and crowdfunded for its Tête à Tête Opera Festival premiere, it embraces a deliberately bizarre, collage-like theatrical language. A quoted notice calls it “half space opera, half soap opera,” fusing the cosmic with the domestic in “glorious techno-color.”
