This production presents Rihards Dubra’s Christmas Oratorio (Oratorio in Natali Gaudio), a work composed in 2011. The composer describes the piece as more philosophical than is usually assumed, focusing on the sensations of Christmas night rather than the fun of the holiday morning. The performance brings together the State Academic Choir LATVIJA and the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Atvars Lakstīgala, in the Great Hall of Great Amber Concert Hall, whose acoustics suit large-scale choral and orchestral works.
