Accabadora

About

Accabadora is a new Teatro Comunale di Bologna production and a co-production with Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Opéra de Dijon and Opéra national de Lyon. The Bologna performances are the work's first Italian performance. Valentina Carrasco is credited with direction and sets, while the shared production also credits Mariangela Mazzeo for set design, Mauro Tinti for costumes and Antonio Castro for lighting. The visual concept is rooted in Sardinian ritual and communal life, including collective labor, weaving, bread-making, grape harvesting and the appearance of the dead through Sardinian mamuthone masks. Leonhard Garms conducts, with Noa Frenkel, Rachel Masclet, Jean-Christophe Lanièce, Hugo Brady, Victoire Bunel and Francesco Leone in the cast, supported by the Orchestra and technicians of Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
