Works by Heinrich Schütz (including Selig sind die Toten) and Henri Purcell (including Funeral Sentences) alternated with new compositions and airy baroque dances make this evening an impressive experience. Texts by Jacques Brel, Ramses Shaffy and others connect baroque music with the present time. Corona took possession of us for two years; that was the reason for conductor Huub Ehlen to create this comforting program. Where people were longing for oxygen at the time, breath had to be the most important source of sound in this program. That is why there are not only four singers, but also four wind players in the ensemble.
