Since its premiere in 2006, Rebecca has been successfully performed in ten major European capitals. A good musical must be based primarily on a strong story. The novel Dead and Alive from the pen of Daphne du Maurier was transferred to the screen by the famous director Alfred Hitchcock in 1940. It was adapted into a musical form by the renowned creators of the Viennese musical school, the lyricist and playwright Michael Kunze and the composer Sylvester Levay. In our country, the work of this tandem is still little known, but we rightly expect that the new title will become an exciting hit of the season.
