The multi-award-winning Broadway hit musical, winner of eight Tony Awards, comes to Bonn for the first time on the stage of the Junges Theater. It is a coming-of-age story about several teenagers who search for love and closeness, dream of the future, philosophize, rebel, doubt themselves, despair, make mistakes, and face the consequences. The drama exposes the destructive effects of ignorance, repression, and a lack of communication between generations. In this first co-production, Theater Bonn’s opera division and the Junges Theater Bonn create genuine synergies: under the musical direction of Ekaterina Klewitz and stage direction by Bernard Niemeyer, members of the youth chorus and acting ensemble of the Junges Theater, accompanied and supported by a live band, unite their different skills and experiences to shape a moving, dramatic-musical evening.
