Smoky Hill High School Theater staged “Twelve” (the stage adaptation of Twelve Angry Jurors) as part of its 2016–2017 drama season. The process began with acting auditions that required a 1–2 minute memorized monologue, with cold readings available for new auditioners. Callbacks occurred on August 19, 2016, and the cast list was posted on August 22. Rehearsals ran intensively from August 22 through October 8, typically Monday–Friday after school until 5:30 pm, with an all-day session on Saturday, October 1. The production integrated student technical crews across lighting, sound, props, and scenery, mirroring the actors’ schedule. During the final week (October 3–8), evening technical rehearsals extended until 9:30 pm to finalize staging ahead of the four-day run in early October.
