Divertissement is an early music chamber concert presented by Freunde Alter Musik Basel (FAMB) in its 2025/2026 season. The program explores the vivid colors and resonant textures of historical string instruments, focusing on the interplay between violin, viola d’amore, viola da gamba, theorbo, and harpsichord, with music by Christoph Bernhard, Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, Dieterich Buxtehude, Christian Petzold, among others. The artistic approach is rooted in Baroque chamber traditions, uniting a quartet of period‑instrument specialists. The concert is presented in the intimate, acoustically rich setting of Basel’s Martinskirche.
