The 2006 staging of Der tollste Tag at the Bregenzer Festspiele was directed by Michael Scheidl, with stage and costume design by Nora Scheidl. Presented as a co-production between Bregenzer Festspiele and Vorarlberger Landestheater, the team returned to the Werkstattbühne following their previous year's success with Der siebte Himmel in Vierteln. The production was supported by sponsors including Casinos Austria and Hypo Vorarlberg.
