Saoshyant

Saoshyant is a contemporary short opera composed and written by Ramin Amin Tafreshi for the 2021 Opera Forward Festival in collaboration with Dutch National Opera. The piece is conceived for three solo singers, a vocal ensemble, a chamber ensemble, and live electronics, embracing a multidisciplinary sound world. An adapted version of Act I was recorded and broadcast as part of the festival’s digital program amid March 2021 global restrictions. Specialized electronics were realized by Soheil Shayesteh, and the stage direction was by Sjaron Minailo. The instrumentation includes flute, alto flute, trombone, bass trombone, and percussion that interweave with the layered vocal textures. The work was recognized with a nomination for the AHK Eindwerkprijs 2021.
