Ephemerality and Recurrence

Ephemerality and Recurrence is a contemporary multimedia concert conceived by PhD composer-performer Ashkan Layegh. The work unfolds through three distinct quartets that interact across sound and image: a traditional acoustic string quartet; the amplified Phemo Quartet (alto saxophone, electric bass, drums, piano); and a conceptual 'screen' quartet of visuals, illustrations, anecdotes, and process notes. Designed as three pieces in one, each quartet maintains its own independent space while continuously engaging with the others, creating a dynamic, interwoven performance experience.
