About

HERE is a dance theatre work by US artist Andrew Schneider, inspired by Richard McGuire’s graphic novel. It investigates what binds a community that shares a physical place across different times—traces, legacies, assumptions, consciousness, feelings, or beliefs. Using wireless in-ear technology and ideas about simultaneity and quantum entanglement, the creators stage overlapping realities in real time. Commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow and the Moss Arts Center (Virginia Tech), the piece premieres in July 2025 at Jacob’s Pillow before its European premiere at the Lausitz Festival. Development support came from the Academy of Arts Berlin, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Williams College, and The Mercury Store. Conceived and performed by Andrew Schneider with co-creators Margaux Marielle-Tréhoüart and Joel Suárez Gómez, the production fuses theatre, performance, storytelling, dance, and technology to render the ‘simultaneity of the non-simultaneous’ on stage.
