“Jeanloup & Etienne: The Orchestral Clown” is an interactive orchestral concert for the whole family, designed for children aged five and up. The production is based on an idea by Kurt Bucher and Stephan Hodel, with Hodel also composing the music. The concept blends orchestral music with comedic acting and slapstick. At its core is the interaction between the clown Jeanloup and the orchestra. The performance playfully explores the boundary between noise and music, as the clown’s actions—like the clatter of pans and the ring of spoons—are gradually woven into the musical performance. The piece offers an experience that is both humorous and poetic, introducing young audiences to the world of orchestral music in an unconventional way.
