Transfigurations

About

This concert is conceived as a conceptual song recital titled "Transfigurations." Camila Mandillo sings, accompanied by Filipe Gaio on piano. The event is part of the "Rising Stars" series and takes place in the Kleiner Saal of the Elbphilharmonie. The concept explores the relationship between music and theatre, presenting Mandillo's recitals as performances between song, dance, and acting. For the Rising Stars project, Mandillo commissioned a new work from Bushra El-Turk. The dramaturgy connects Messiaen's spiritually and nature-oriented works with Ruth Schönthal's "Arme Erde," Richard Strauss's songs, and the contemporary commission.
