An attractive and popular program dedicated to the castle of brightness features Gershwin's orchestral hit American in Paris . This is followed by Ravel's Concerto in G major, performed by the French pianist Sedrik Tibergen, a performance that, with its jazz elements, thematically builds on the opening work. The second part of the concert is occupied by the music for New Babylon , written by Dmitri Shostakovich for the silent historical film of the same name from 1929, dedicated to the events related to the Paris Commune.
