This production is part of the “Brigade Opéra” initiative, designed to bring opera directly to the public in outdoor park settings. Staged by Érika Gagnon with costumes and sets by Sophie Martel, the work is a co‑production between Cont’opéra and the Festival d’opéra de Québec. The staging uses a charming ‘castelet’—a small, portable puppet‑theatre‑style structure—creating a mobile theatrical environment suitable for diverse outdoor locations. The 2025 festival programming highlights women and their quest for freedom, a theme reflected in this allegorical work. With a concise one‑act format, the presentation is tailored to reach new audiences in accessible, informal spaces.
