This staging is based on the novel “Mars” by Fritz Zorn (pseudonym of Zurich-born Fritz Angst). Anne Haug adapts the text with additional scenes developed by her team, translating the author’s unflinching view of a life suspended between fear and anger into a stage form. Conceived as a record of grief for an existence that was “never truly lived,” the production focuses on loneliness, lack of love, and the longing for freedom. The artistic concept emphasizes psychologically precise acting in an intimate setting on the Kleine Bühne. The design (set/costumes by Moïra Gilliéron) and lighting (Stefan Erny) frame three performers whose work, according to the press, is subtle and multifaceted. Music by Luzius Schuler is used sparingly to support the atmosphere. Recommended for ages 13 and up, the performance lasts about 1 hour 45 minutes without intermission and features German surtitles.
