Beata viscera

Beata Viscera is an original musical project led by pianist and composer Daniel García that avoids a superficial fusion of distant styles. Instead, it explores common essentials shared by jazz and Renaissance music: modality, color, creativity, spirituality, and a vivid sense of earthly life. The concept highlights jazz’s harmonic freedom and improvisatory drive while recognizing how early music often reached its most expressive language through dissonance and chromaticism. Bringing together a modern jazz trio (piano, double bass, percussion) with the historicist vocal quintet Vandalia, the project shows that the passions and doubts that shaped the dawn of the modern era still resonate powerfully today.
