Dark Matter is a ballet program of five creations by choreographer Marco Goecke, each bearing his unmistakable choreographic signature. The intimate solo Tué explores the connections between three extraordinary women, set to music by the chansonnière Barbara. Midnight Raga transports the audience into a mystical Indian night, while Äffi, a classic from Goecke’s repertoire since 2005, highlights his distinctive movement language. The pieces All Long Dem Day and Nachtmerrie, set to music by Nina Simone, Keith Jarrett, and Lady Gaga, portray human relationships, separation, and loss with raw power and lyricism. The evening ranges from dark and dramatic to lighter, more reflective moments, revealing a compelling manifestation of “dark matter” through dance.
