This double-bill production by English National Ballet brings together two distinct choreographic voices to explore the core of the human experience. The first half features the UK premiere of Crystal Pite's Body and Soul (Part 1), a work originally created for Paris Opera Ballet in 2022. Pite's choreography utilizes her signature blend of precision and fluidity to examine the human response to bereavement and conflict, transitioning from intimate duets to massive, synchronized group movements involving 36 dancers. The second half presents the world premiere of Proper Conduct by Kameron N. Saunders, an acclaimed commercial dancer known for his work with artists like Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan. Saunders' piece draws from personal experience to explore the struggle of finding one's authentic self while facing societal scrutiny and expectations. The work is set to an original score performed live by the English National Ballet Philharmonic.
