Venus y Adonis

About

This is a new Teatro de la Zarzuela production of José de Nebra's one-act melodrama. Its staging places the work between contemporary comedy, classical tragedy, and poetic transcendence. The multidisciplinary spectacle is shaped by the contrasting colors of the score and framed as a mythological fantasy for modern times. Amelia Ochandiano directs, Alberto Miguélez Rouco provides the musical direction, and the design team includes Ricardo Sánchez Cuerda, Jesús Ruiz, David Picazo, and Iker Karrera. The production features Los Elementos and the titular chorus of Teatro de la Zarzuela, directed by Antonio Fauró.
