The Little Prince

The production presents music by Rostov composer Leonid Klinichev. It was created within the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers’ repertoire of new works for young audiences. The libretto was prepared by the composer’s daughter, Madina Klinicheva, adapting Saint-Exupéry’s narrative into poetic verse. The staging uses the story’s principal characters (the Rose, the Fox, the King, the Snake, the Lamplighter) and preserves the layers of the original tale so that it functions both as a child-friendly fairy tale and a text with hidden, more adult subtext. The performance is presented to piano accompaniment (musical preparation / piano: Yevgeniya Akishina) and features stage lighting and video design adapted for the Primorsky Stage.
