Tempus Fugit

Tempus Fugit is a dance production built around the contrast between internal time and external time. Internal time is described as something contained within the body, while external time manifests around it. The piece traces a movement from the inside to the outside, where the heart drags time, loses itself in time, shelters itself, and becomes exposed. A second central contrast is between animal time and human time: animals live through the seasons in time, while people flee time without time. The work also places chronological time beside meteorological time—days decelerate, minutes slow at irregular moments, and seasons become confused, mild, extreme, and harsh.
