Petite Mort

About

Petite mort is a contemporary ballet choreographed by Jiří Kylián to music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the 2006 staging at Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, the piece was presented within a Jiří Kylián evening titled Bridges of time, alongside works such as Svadebka, No more play, and Sechs Tänze. Kylián’s hallmark blend of musicality and sensual, sculptural movement shapes the choreography, while the production’s visual world—scenography and costumes by Joke Visser and lighting by Joop Caboort—closely follows Kylián’s original conception for this work in Warsaw.
