Dante’s Paradise re-assembles the body through a remoteness proper to the aura, a place defined by movement and by what is mutable. The performance builds a garden and does not reproduce the words of the Divine Comedy, nor does it try to translate the text into movement; instead it lingers on the threshold of suspension, seeking the delicacy of contact and the primordial, liberating, dizzying gesture of love. A dialectal dance shaped by proximity and tactility. In the first part, the choreography is built from continuously manipulating, caressing, and pressing the invisible space around the bodies. In the second part, everything unfolds by taking the breath of plants as a measure to construct a garden as the trace and memory of the gestures that have just crossed it. Closeness to nature immerses the dancers within a limit that feels like a rediscovered game: the plants choose and determine the gestures, the measures, the shadings, the disappearances.
