This masterpiece is the last composition by Pergolesi , who died of tuberculosis at the age of 26. This musical testament concentrates all the techniques of the vocal art of the time: the Italian cantata which uses the galant style, the opera buffa, almost bel canto and stunning dissonances. More than a religious work, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater is a fresco on a poem of pain, one of the summits of the genre, fascinating in its beauty. An anthem for Amnesty International.
