The world comes to you during November Music. Children learn to listen to the most beautiful music from faraway lands with refreshed ears. The Dutch musical theater company Frisse Oren pays tribute to the lullaby with their show "Wiegeling" (for children aged 6 to 18 months). In a cozy setting, a singer, a clarinetist, and an Arabic lutenist engage in musical encounters with the young audience and with each other. Performers and audience share a backdrop of moving abstract shapes, colorful light sources, and elements that create wondrous sounds. A feast for the senses unfolds, inviting young and old alike to indulge. Central to the performance is the Arabic lullaby, a song that has drifted over from the childhood memories of Syrian musician Jaber Fayad. Jaber's compositions also reflect influences from music around the world and throughout history. The sounds spark the imagination and evoke nostalgia for places you may never have visited.
