Ring is a three-part contemporary dance evening that explores circle dances—one of humanity’s oldest rituals for aligning with the cosmos. The Studiobühne is transformed into an intimate arena where the audience completely surrounds a circular dance floor, creating an in-the-round, close-up experience. The evening emphasizes a pure dance focus described as sensual, provocative, and powerful. Three young international choreographers—Italian Brian Scalini, Australian Jack Traylen, and Israeli Etay Axelroad—present distinct choreographic signatures in dialogue with each other. A unified visual concept by Thomas Van der Jeught (set and costumes) and lighting by Martin Schwarz ties the evening together, while each section features its own tailored sound world. The performance carries an age recommendation of 12+. Strobe effects are used in the first choreography, Eidolons, approximately 15 minutes into the performance.
