Marius Schötz and Marthe Meinhold’s Pinocchio turns the familiar tale of the wooden puppet upside down. Together with the Kinderchor am Rhein, the Academy for Chorus and Music Theatre and soloists from the ensemble, Pinocchio’s fabulous, tall-tale adventure is brought to life with verve. The opera questions whether slips are really mistakes, or whether a host of charming, anarchic Pinocchios might just stomp through life. Recommended for children aged 6 and up; running time about 1.5 hours without intermission.
