Beyond Time by Taiwan’s U-Theatre creates an immersive multi-layered, three-dimensional experience using imaging technology and dance movements that simulate those of the planets in the solar system. The production utilizes projection and mirrored floors to construct a virtual 4D space, aiming to transport the audience into a realm where time takes on a different context. The company fuses meditative practices and Taoist-influenced philosophy with disciplined training in drumming, martial arts, Tai Chi dance, and acting. The staging draws inspiration from both ancient and modern cultures of the East and West, where music, literature, and ritual inform the physical work. The performance is characterized by its precision and the integration of technology with traditional performance arts.
