The special feature of the world-famous musical is that its music was composed by two members of the former legendary Swedish band ABBA, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. The story takes place during the Cold War, during a World Chess Championship doubles match, and centers on an unfolding love triangle. The trio consists of an American and a Russian chess player, as well as the Hungarian-born woman who is the former's manager but falls in love with the latter. Both the United States and the Soviet Union do their best to use the outcome of the match for propaganda purposes. Although we cannot claim that the characters of the play are real people, it is undeniable that the figure of the American player was modeled after Bobby Fischer, while the plot, the story, and within that the other elements of the match are two Soviet chess phenomena,
