About

“Chansons” is a concert project starring singer-songwriter Chiara Civello with the Orchestra della Magna Grecia. The event is part of the 2022/2023 musical season marking the orchestra’s 30th anniversary. Artistic direction is by Maestro Piero Romano, with arrangements and conducting by Maestro Roberto Molinelli. The concept focuses on reinterpreting major French chanson classics (1945–1975), restoring the songs to their original French authorship after becoming international standards often known in English covers. Civello, with a cosmopolitan and jazz-inflected approach, interweaves these classics with her own original compositions.
