Directed by Jorge Andrade, mala voadora’s Hamlet is built on the shorter 'Bad Quarto' text, emphasizing action and theatrical machinery over introspection. The staging embeds a theatre company within the story, folds a falsely cited play inside the play, and has characters staging situations for one another. Visually, it uses the illusion of an Italian-style theatre and a proscenium arch as a mise en abyme, treating the arch like the ghost of King Hamlet and a machine that intensifies the stage action. The São Luiz materials describe the actors as figures in a diabolical ball, while the company frames the work as a theatrical device driven by Hamlet himself. Scenography and costumes are by José Capela; lighting by Daniel Worm D’Assumpção; with choreographic support by Marco da Silva Ferreira.
